Life Skills 101 (in daycare training)

This program is intended for dogs that need some work on basic manners. The focus is on teaching your pet to learn key commands to help them listen to you. We focus on teaching your dog how to calm themselves down, make good behaviour choices, and respond to direction from you. It includes:

–          12 half-day training sessions

–          Sessions are held twice a week (six weeks total)

–          Multiple private, one-on-one training sessions each day, combined with rest and play sessions in between

–          Six half-hour “go home” lessons at the end of each week upon pick-up, to teach you what your dog has learned and give you the skills you need to continue practising at home

–          Behaviours covered include, but are not limited to:

o   Walking nicely on leash

o   Basic Commands (Sit, Stay, Down)

o   Leaving things alone (no picking up garbage in the street or stealing shoes at home)

o   Polite greetings at the front door (no jumping up or excessive barking)

o   Relaxing while at liberty (no more demanding attention!)

o   Come Foundation Training, to prepare for a solid come-when-called command

This program costs $1,900.00 (plus HST) and includes a 6 foot leather leash and the cost of the 12 half-day’s of daycare.  (For an additional $10 per day, these days can be extended to a full day of daycare).

**This program is ideally suited for people who don’t have the time available to do the “heavy lifting” when it comes to training their dog.   In this program we spend the time teaching and re-enforcing these concepts with your dog, and then teach you what they’ve learned in the weekly “Go Home” session so that you can continue to re-enforce what they’ve learned on a daily basis.  It’s worth noting that although your dog will learn the training concepts during the program, in order for you and your dog to have long-term success, it is essential that you use the skills we teach you, so that you can provide structure and clarity for your dog in their everyday life.
