Doggieland Daycare and Boarding Contract / Agreement
I understand and accept that in admitting my dog(s) to 2113499 Ontario Inc. o/a Doggieland (or the “Company”), the facility has relied on my accurate representation that my dog(s) is/are in good health and have not harmed or shown aggressive or threatening behaviour towards any person or any other dog.
I understand and accept that any problems that arise with my dog(s) will be treated as deemed necessary by Doggieland staff at their discretion.
I understand and accept that Doggieland is a “group play” daycare facility and that there are inherent risks of illness and/or injury when allowing dogs to interact. Such risks include, but are not limited to, issues resulting from rough play, dogs correcting each other’s behaviour, strained muscles and/or joints, parasites, etc. which may result in serious injury, illness, death, or damage. I acknowledge that I am voluntarily signing my pet up to participate in such activities. I freely accept and fully assume any and all of the risks, dangers, and hazards involved and the possibility of injury, illness, death, or damage to my pet and/or others whether caused by the negligence of the Company or otherwise.
In the event that my dog(s) sustain(s) any injuries or illnesses at Doggieland, I understand and accept that I am fully responsible for any and all costs or vet bills incurred for my dog. I understand and accept that Doggieland, its staff and other clients are not liable for these costs, other than in cases of gross negligence on the part of Doggieland or its staff.
I hereby expressly waive and release any and all claims which I have or may in the future have against the Company, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, shareholders, successors, and assigns (collectively, "Releasees"), on account of injury, illness, death, medical issues, or other damage arising out of or attributable to participation in Doggieland’s daycare services, transportation services, treatment, and care (collectively the “Activities”), due to any cause whatsoever, including without limitation the negligence of the Company or any other Releasee, breach of contract, or breach of any statutory or other duty of care owing under occupiers liability legislation or otherwise. I covenant not to make or bring any such claim against the Company or any other Releasee, and forever release and discharge the Company and all other Releasees from liability under such claims.
I shall defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Company and all other Releasees against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses of whatever kind, including reasonable legal fees, in connection with any third-party claim, suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or resulting from the Activities. I shall also defend, indemnify and hold Doggieland harmless against any claims, losses or damages of any kind, made against the Company as the result of my failure to inform Doggieland of pertinent information concerning my dog.
I authorize and give full permission for Doggieland staff to seek qualified veterinary consultation, treatment, and care as may be deemed necessary by a qualified veterinarian in the event of an emergency situation in which my dog(s) become ill or injured while at Doggieland. Should my specified veterinarian be unavailable, I authorize Doggieland to engage the services of a veterinarian of their choice. I agree that I shall reimburse Doggieland for all expenses related to transportation, medical care and/or emergency treatment for my dog as recommended by a veterinarian, and any such incidentals/fees incurred in the case of an emergency.
By signing, I acknowledge that I have read and understood all of the terms of this agreement and that I am voluntarily giving up substantial legal rights (on my behalf and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators, and next-of-kin), including the right to sue the Company and the Releasees. I agree to abide by said rules and regulations and accept all terms, conditions and statements of this agreement.
Canine Cough Waiver / Agreement
Canine Cough or Canine Infectious Tracheobronchitis is a contagious illness caused by a bacteria or virus which results in the inflammation of the respiratory tract in dogs. It is characterized by the following main symptoms: coughing, dehydration, fever, gagging, nasal discharge, sneezing, phlegm and lethargy. Whenever large numbers of dogs are concentrated in close proximity (e.g. at vet clinics, dog parks, animal shelters, daycare and/or boarding facilities) there is an increased risk of transmission of this illness.
The symptoms of Canine Cough usually persist for 2-3 weeks. In the majority of cases, the infection will either clear on its own as the dogs’ body mounts an immune defence against the invading organisms, or it can be treated and resolved with antibiotics. In some rare cases (for instance in very young, very old or immunosuppressed dogs), a serious bronchopneumonia can result.
A Canine Cough vaccine (Bordetella) is available and 2113499 Ontario Inc. o/a Doggieland (or the “Company”) requires that dogs receive this vaccine before attending daycare/boarding unless otherwise exempt (for reasons such as allergies[AG1.1]). If given intra-nasally or orally, the dog must receive the vaccine at least 3 days prior to attending daycare/boarding. If given by injection, the dog must receive it at least 3 weeks prior to attending daycare/boarding. Dogs must be vaccinated annually.
I understand and accept that there is an inherent risk of exposure to Canine Cough at Doggieland with respect to my dog(s) utilizing said facility. I understand and agree that Doggieland will not be held liable for any monetary expenses incurred in the diagnosis, treatment, medical care or as a result of any inconvenience caused by the contraction of this illness. I hereby expressly waive and release any and all claims which I have or may in the future have against the Company, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, shareholders, successors, and assigns (collectively, "Releasees"), on account of injury, illness, death, medical issues, or other damage arising out of or attributable to participation in Doggieland’s daycare services, transportation services, treatment, and care, including but not limited to any that may result from the transmission of Canine Cough (collectively the “Activities”), due to any cause whatsoever, including without limitation the negligence of the Company or any other Releasee, breach of contract, or breach of any statutory or other duty of care owing under occupiers liability legislation or otherwise. I covenant not to make or bring any such claim against the Company or any other Releasee, and forever release and discharge the Company and all other Releasees from liability under such claims.
I further understand and agree that my dog(s) must stay at home while contagious and can only return to Doggieland after being symptom-free for 7 days or more.
I shall defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Company and all other Releasees against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses of whatever kind, including reasonable legal fees, in connection with any third-party claim, suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or resulting from the Activities.

Nail Trim Waiver / Bathing Agreement
All dogs who visit Doggieland for daycare or boarding are given a health check upon arrival. One component of the health check involves taking note of the length of a dog’s nails.
Although not a common occurrence, it is possible for excessively long nails to tear or rip during regular play. These injuries can happen at home or at daycare and are preventable. When these injuries do occur, the torn nail results not only in great discomfort for the dog, but may also be accompanied by a significant vet bill (typically ranging from $600 - $1200, depending on the treatment required).
In order to minimize the risk of such injury, Doggieland asks that all owners keep their dog's nails well-trimmed (regardless of whether the owners wish to trim the nails themselves, have them trimmed elsewhere, or have them trimmed at Doggieland).
In the event that a dog is dropped off to Doggieland and their nails are excessively long (to the point that Doggieland staff are concerned about the risk of injury), Doggieland will attempt to contact the owner to discuss the option of either having a Doggieland groomer provide a nail trim at that time, or isolating the dog from group play for their safety.
I understand and accept that in the event that Doggieland is not able to reach me, Doggieland is authorized to trim my dog’s nails at their discretion, for my dog’s safety, and will charge me their standard nail trim charge (plus HST) for the service.
Occasionally, dogs may require an emergency bath while visiting Doggieland (as an example – if the dog rolls in feces, or have their own feces stuck in their fur to a degree that makes them uncomfortable). I understand and accept that in the event that Doggieland is not able to reach me, Doggieland is authorized to bathe my dog at their discretion, for my dog’s safety and comfort and will charge me their standard bathing fee (plus HST) for this service.
I hereby expressly waive and release any and all claims which I have or may in the future have against the Company, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, shareholders, successors, and assigns (collectively, "Releasees"), on account of injury, illness, death, medical issues, or other damage arising out of or attributable to home visits, pet pick-up and drop-off, and dog walking (collectively the “Activities”), due to any cause whatsoever, including without limitation the negligence of the Company or any other Releasee, breach of contract, or breach of any statutory or other duty of care owing under occupiers liability legislation or otherwise. I covenant not to make or bring any such claim against the Company or any other Releasee, and forever release and discharge the Company and all other Releasees from liability under such claims.
